Sometimes all we need to do is change our perspective. By changing your perspective, a square becomes a diamond and a negative becomes a positive. By changing your perspective, an enemy becomes a friend. By choosing to change our perspective we can change our situation and our life forever. Life often is, a matter of perspective.
We cannot always change what happens to us but, what we can change, what we must change, is how we handle those things. You can’t make a positive change with a negative attitude.
A runway allows an airplane to gain momentum. On-ramps allow you to merge with the freeway traffic. They both exist for getting us up to speed. Yesterday, today and tomorrow are our runways. How will we use them?

I’m no expert and I often struggle to create a better balance, but in this episode, I share a couple things I’ve worked on to assist me, as well as two ways I’ve worked to improve my work-life balance.

Sometimes Doing the Right Thing Isn’t Enough. If all we do, and all we ask of those we lead, is to do the right thing, that is often not enough. Our competitors in business, our competitors in sports and in life, are often going above and beyond. No champion will ever say, or has ever said, that all they did were the right things. Champions say things like, I came in early and stayed late. and things like I pushed myself further than I ever have before. Doing the right thing is simply the ticket to entry.
In today’s podcast, I’m going to share six ways you can take control over your success. What goals do you have for yourself over the next 6 months? Do you want to get promoted? Do you want to earn a raise (yes, I said earn)? Do you need to take a step back and examine where you are now? These questions are why no one will ever take your career as seriously as you do; if you don’t know the answer to them, neither will anyone else.
Who we are is a reflection of what we say, think and do. Generally, people claim to be the things that generate income for our families or reflect responsibility. Whatever success means to you, own it. Take your success and make it the focal point of everything you do.
We spend so much time trying to keep things the way they are, the way the were. We try our best to fight having to learn something new, try something different or do anything with which we’re not familiar. But what if we embraced the change? Change can lead to growth if we let it. What if we embraced the change?
When an opportunity is only available for a short amount of time, then and only then, can we “seize” it. I think that’s also why we say, “seize the day.” We have to seize today because each day is fleeting; here today, gone tomorrow, and never to return. We have to reach out and grab life; life cannot be lived vicariously. Opportunities can be too good to be true, but the opportunity that can lead to our personal fulfillment must be seized! So, how do we do that?
