Purchase Your Domain/URL

Lesson 5 Chapter 1 Module 2

Tips for Buying a Domain

  • Length – The shorter the domain the better. Not only is a short domain easier to remember, it's also easier to type (especially on mobile devices).
  • Extension – If at all possible, purchase a .com domain extension. These extensions are easier to remember and go well for your global audience.
  • Domain – When it doubt, go with your name. It's easy to remember and it's likely to never change. If your name isn't available, try “the” at the beginning as in “TheJaneDoe.com”.
  • Spelling – Don't use funky spelling when picking your domain. Make it easy to type, easy to remember and easily spelled.
