When the Honeymoon is Over and Reality Sets In
I hope you're having a great day. It's beautiful (as usual) here in Round Rock, but I know parts of the U.S. are getting hit with snow, ice, and other things that aren't practically perfect weather (like it is here).
Today, I've got 3 things to share:
- Slow time funks and what to do about them (and what not to do)
- Tax time things
- Let's meet in person!
1: SLOW TIME FUNKS
This morning I had a mastermind call with some extremely successful business owners. I mean, combined, these guys bring in over $700k a year in their businesses. But, today's call was kinda… eh.
See, in business, like with everything that's “new,” there's a honeymoon period when things are great, everyone's happy, and the future looks amazing. Then, the honeymoon ends, reality sets in, and we're forced to face the results of our actions either with a smile, or a face-palm.
And I think that's where my clients were this morning.
In January, the new year is still fresh and exciting. In February, all of your energies from the previous month are paying off, you're getting results, and you're like, “hell yeah!”
Then March rolls around, and you start feeling all of the hours building up. You begin to feel a little tired, and you wonder how long you can sustain your growth.
March is like the last bit of coffee of the morning before you go to lunch. It's too late to brew another cup, but it's too early for beer (I mean iced tea) with lunch. And, for that matter, August is like 3 pm when your lunch energy has worn off.
But I've gotten sidetracked…
During the slow time, when your energy wains and your results start to slow, that's when most people quit. They feel like they can't go any further, and, instead of getting the support, guidance (or coffee) they need, they pack it in and go back to what's comfortable. When most people quit is when successful people dig in and go hunting for their second wind. When other people get tired, successful people dig deep and put in the work anyway.
When slow times hit, don't quit, don't give up, and don't lose your momentum!

2: TAX TIME THINGS
I've been working on doing my taxes the past few weeks and getting everything ready to submit. I know talking about taxes s-u-c-k-s, so I'm not going to do it =)
I'm going to talk about your returns!
If you're getting a tax return this year, this might be the perfect time to enroll in one of my 1×1 coaching programs. Don't blow your money on new speakers, vacations, or a new 4K TV (all things I almost did), invest in yourself. Put your money to good use and make the decision to work with me in 2017!
Not interested in coaching?
Check out this conversation with my friend and fellow business owner about ways you can use your tax refund to start your business.
3: CAN WE MEET?
I don't often get to meet readers like you in person, so I thought I'd give us the best chances of success and share a little bit of my upcoming travel schedule. If you're in the area, I'd love to meet for lunch, sign your book, and/or give you a hug/handshake.
June 26-30: I'll be in Washington D.C.
Aug 21-26: I'll be in Anaheim, CA
Sept 28-30: I'll be in Las Vegas, NV
Like I said, if you're in the area, I'd love to meet you! And, if you're in or around Anaheim, I might be holding a 1-day mastermind where you can learn from me, interact with several of my clients, connect with other entrepreneurs and build your business. Shoot an email my way if you'd be interested in that.
LASTLY…
If you haven't already purchased a copy of Exit Strategy, I'd LOVE to send you a copy for free!
You can CLICK HERE to see the offer, and all I ask is that you cover the cost for me to ship it to you ($8.84, U.S. only, sorry international folks).
About a week after you submit your order, my 293-page book will arrive, and you can get one of my favorite things, and begin building your business they way I wish I had back in 2014 when I got fired from my job! And, oh yeah, the full story of how that happened is in there too =)
OH, ONE MORE THING
What types of resources, information, tools, or guidance do you need to help you where you are in your business? Is it help with time management? Is it staying focused?
I get emails all the time from people struggling to get their business going, and I want to hear from you!
How can I help you?
What do you need?
I look forward to hearing from you!
