Results from my 2013 Reader Survey

One of the biggest challenges I've faced since starting the blog and the podcast has been getting to know you.

As a reader and listener, you can help shape what topics I write and talk about. Your interests, challenges, and struggles are my interests, challenges and struggles.

I could say you and I are the same, but we both know that's not true. If it were, I wouldn't have to ask what you're up to.

Last year I launched my 2013 reader survey. I asked some odd questions – questions I thought I should ask instead of questions that would have better helped us both.

With this year's survey I promise to do better.

But before I dive head first into the woulda, coulda, shoulda, here are the results from my 2013 Reader Survey!

Who is my average reader?

I want to introduce you to Jenna. She has been reading Empoweringthe80Percent.com for a while now, but her busy schedule at work only allows her to check out the site a few times a week.

Jenna attends church on Sundays and considers herself to be fairly religious. She was born in California but moved to Texas a few years ago.

She enjoys the arts, specifically TV, music and movies. Jenna uses these things as an escape from her day job where she works behind the scenes crunching numbers and working on a computer.

She likes that she can read about success, get motivation and feel empowered from her laptop, because the screen on her iPhone is just a tad too small for her to read. Jenna is in her mid-thirties after all.

Despite working behind the scenes, Jenna makes pretty good money. She doesn't struggle with debt and she's grateful for the education she's received.

Getting her degree was a big deal and she enjoyed learning, but now that she's got a job, she only gets to spend a couple of hours a week on personal development.
