3 Tools to Make Your Website Look More Professional

We all we want a great looking website, right? One that looks good feels good and makes a good first impression.

But some websites are better than others. They instill more confidence, they get more visitors, and, ultimately make more money.

As much as we love homemade and homegrown, we want to have confidence about where we're getting our information and spending our money. We still buy from companies we know, like, and trust. And that usually means we buy from professional websites.

how to make a professional website

The other day, I went to a website of someone I follow online. She'd shared a landing page on social media, but when I clicked on her link, I knew she could do better. Her page had a few spelling errors, there were snippets of code that showed up where they shouldn't be, and things just weren't…
… pretty.

To help, here are three things you can do to increase conversions, attract more readers, and do more business on your website. In short, these tips will help you make your website more… professional =)

1: Eliminate Spelling and Grammatical Errors

I think anyone can forgive one misspelled word. But, two? Now THAT's crossing the line!

All kidding aside, spelling and grammatical errors tend to leap off the page, and can ruin an otherwise wonderful blog post or sales letter. Misspelled words, missing punctuation, and other grammatical errors make your website look less professional, and they give off the impression that you don't care about your visitors.

The good thing is, there's a free tool every writer should use called Grammarly.

Grammarly has both a free and a premium option, and it's an extension you should add to your browser immediately. Grammarly will check your work before you hit publish so you'll be error free and professional.

2: Increase Page Load Speed and Reduce Loading Times

Major companies like Google, Amazon, and Facebook know how important speed is to the internet. If their page doesn't load within seconds, you'll leave.

Businesses with professional websites know the importance of speed.

The good thing is, GreenGeeks offers some of the fastest hosting around at some of the most competitive prices available.

GreenGeeks has built their hosting on super-fast SSD (solid state drive) technology. When I compared GreenGeeks to companies like Bluehost and HostGator, I noticed an IMMEDIATE and DRAMATIC improvement.

NOTE: If your hosting company is on this list, you should move your site immediately!

Not only are my clients' sites on GreenGeeks faster on the front-end, but they're faster on the back-end as well. That means adding and updating posts and pages from within your WordPress Dashboard takes you less time.

Plus, GreenGeeks offers a free SSL for e-commerce so you can sell products directly on your site. And they provide 24/7 support just like the other guys who charge more and deliver less.

3: Upgrade to a Professional Yet Approachable Look

Sometimes having a website that looks like your nephew built it over spring break is ok. If you want a website that looks professional, it's not ok.

But the good thing is, I found a company that has made it super easy to create amazing looking blogs, professional websites, and high-converting landing pages. That company is called ThriveThemes.

When I discovered ThriveThemes a few years ago, thanks to my buddy Jason, I was a little skeptical.

How could this company offer such a great tool for such a reasonable price?

Were ThriveTheme's themes and plugins worth switching to?

Is it really that easy to make landing and sales pages?

For me, the answer was I don't know, yes, and yes. Shane Melaugh and the team at ThriveThemes have created one of the best software packages for people who want to build professional websites. They love what they do, and they're continually improving and adding new features.

If you're looking for an all-in-one website builder (complete with themes and multiple plugins) ThriveThemes is as close as you're going to get. I recommend these guys to all of the students in 8 Weeks to Exit, and I would recommend it to you if your goal is to make a professional website that looks and feels as awesome as possible.
